I know the simple method. You can use this in your exam as well.

let x=0.4788888......

let y=47.8888.... (i)

Now write it without decimal

478-47.888/900

=431/900

this is the first method

Another method is-

letx= 0.47888... i

10x=4.788888... ii

100x=47.88888.. iii

1000x=478.8888... iv

Subtracting iii from iv

1000x-100x=478.888-47.888

900x=431

x=431/900
