Let,
x = 0.999... ..................(1)
then,
10x = 9.999... .............(2)
subtract equation (1) from (2),
9x = 9
or

[[x = 1]]

You may say that the answer is wrong, but it is correct, The difference between 0.999... and 1 is so infinitesimally small that is becomes reasonable to think of the answer is correct.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

This question is not as usual as we do it but answers are same that is ~1

Lets not copy everything as patterns goes for mathematics problems and their solutions coz there are times situations will be different but will seem to be the same but u will not be able to comprehend your own results and hence might become confused which is dangerous till u find the right approach...

So here it is,-

Any decimal under a bar means digits repeating infinite times..

That is in this case be like..

. 9 bar = . 9...infinity

=> 9...infinity/10..infinity

This step can be comprehended as

The numerator is just 1 less than the denominator which means that we can rewrite it as

I0..../10... - 1/10....infinity

=> 1 - ~0 = ~1.... Or one may say 1 .

Long explanation but had to be after reading all the answers.

I am sorry for not using a mathematical keyboard.
