Expressing 0.999... in form of p/q
Let x = 0.9999.... ...(i)
Now,
=> 10x = 9.999... ....(ii)
Now, subtracting (i) from (ii), we get
=> 10x - x = 9.99... - 0.999...
=> 9x = 9
=> x = 1
Therefore, p/q form of 0.999.. = 1

Proof: Let x=0.999…x=0.999… . Now consider that 10x=9.999…10x=9.999… . So then we have that 9x=10x−x=9.99…−0.999…=9.09x=10x−x=9.99…−0.999…=9.0 .
Thus 9x/9=9/9=19x/9=9/9=1.
