8 = 3 + 5 where 3 & 5 are twin primes

Given :

The number 8

To find :

To express 8 as sum of twin primes

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Form the equation to find the numbers

Let the first prime number is x

We know that twin primes are pair of prime numbers where difference 2 between the primes is 2

Thus next prime number is x + 2 so that twin prime numbers are x and x + 2

By the given condition

\displaystyle \sf{ x + (x + 2) = 8 }

Step 2 of 2 :

Express 8 as sum of twin primes

\displaystyle \sf{  x + (x + 2) = 8}

\displaystyle \sf{ \implies 2x + 2 = 8}

\displaystyle \sf{ \implies 2x = 8 - 2}

\displaystyle \sf{ \implies 2x = 6}

\displaystyle \sf{ \implies x =  \frac{6}{2} }

\displaystyle \sf{ \implies x =  3 }

So the twin prime numbers are 3 and 5

Hence 8 = 3 + 5 where 3 & 5 are twin primes
