Let the required number be x.

Given,

Twice a number increased by 6 is 101

ATQ,

 =  > 2x + 6 = 101 \\  =  > 2x = 101 - 6 \\  =  > 2x = 95 \\  =  > x =  \frac{95}{2}

Therefore,the required number is 95/2.
