the rule that we need to follow while reducing the the number of significant figures given in the question to the required number of significant figures is that in case of decimal we first select that two significant figure. hair in both the given questions there is only one digit before decimal so we need to take one more digit after decimal in short we need to round off the digit after the decimal to make it a two digit significant number. so for rounding off the digit after decimal we need to see the digit next to it in case one the digit is 6 and the digit next to 6 is 0,as 0 is less than 5 and also not equal to 5 so one will not be added to 6 and the number remains to be 5.6 only.

similarly in second part we need to round off 3 and for that we need to look at 4 after decimal here also 4 is neither equal to 5 not greater than 5 so it will remain as 3.3 only.
