Its a very simple question... 

Before solving.....
Lets first talk about ratio.....

Ratio is actually a comparison of two things that how many times the first number contains the second.
It's the word which is given birth to word rational ......
A rational can be written in the from of p/q.
Similar to this, a ratio can also be written in the form of p/q.

After converting a ratio is the form of p/q, we can then just multiply by 100 to convert it in percentage.

Let us now move to the question ..............

We have to convert 1:2 into percentage.

Converting 1:2 in the form of p/q.

1:2 = 1/2
Now, multiply it by 100.

$\frac{1}{2}$ X 100 
= 50 %

Hence, 1:2 = 50%.
