as we all know equilibrium is necessary for everything eg. newtons law explains that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction .in the same way the word extreme states a sense of unbalance. unbalance in any thing harms us. eg. extreme hot as well as extreme cold conditions may lead to death but balanced conditions help us to survive. the feeling of overconfidence kills a persons victory on the other hand no confidence even does the same. thus i conclude and agree to the point extreme harms more.
