the tigers are the chief consumers, so if they are gone, population of herbivores like deers would increase dramatically and would lead to heavy grazing! which will wipe out the grasslands and forests and would ultimately result in a very unstable ecosystem

because tigers are one of the main carnivorous species in the forest ecosystem. If the tigers get extinct the herbivores species will be increased and led to deplete in grasses and plants . That's why the decrease of tiger population will harm the allover ecosystem of the forest.
