- When the food enter in our mouth, the teeth start brealing them into smaller pieces.
- After the chewing process the saliva of the tongue make the food easy to shallow.
- Our tongue contain special enzymes which is responsible for digestion.
There are 4 types of teeth in our mouth with their respective functions -
1. Incisors -
- The front teeth are called incisors. There are 8 incisors in our mouth, 4 in upper part and 4 in lower part.
- Incisors are responsible in cutting food.
2. Canines -
- There are 4 canines in our mouth. They are located after the incisors.
- They main function of canines are to tear food.
3. Premolars (Bicuspids) -
- There are 8 premolars in our mouth. t
- They are responsible in crushing the food and make it easier to shallow.
4. Molars -
- Molars are the largest teeth in our mouth. There are 12 molars in our mouth.
- They are responsible in chewing and grinding. They played an important role in chewing process.
