Q. Name the structure present in the body of living organisms responsible for the following :-

i) Transport oxygen to the cells of the human body.

Hemoglobin is the protein inside the red blood cells which transport oxygen to the cells of the human body and carbon dioxide to the lungs. Iron associated with the heme binds the oxygen.

ii) Act as a bearer of heredity.

Chromosomes are the structures which act as a bearer of heredity units in our body. Heredity is a passing of traits from parents to their offspring.

iii) Initiates cell division in animal cells.

Centrosome intimates cell division in animal cells.

iv) Transport manufactured food from leaves to other part of the plant.

Phloem transports manufactured food from leaves to other part of the plant. And this process of transportation is called as translocation.

v) Exudation of cell sap.

Xylem is responsible for Exudation of cell sap in plant.
