The hybridization of carbon in any compound is based on the no. of pi bonds attached to the given carbon. If carbon has only sigma bonds, then hybridization is sp3, if carbon forms one pi bond, then sp 2  hybridized, and if carbon forms 2 pi bonds, then, it is sp hybridized.
