the Mughal Empire declined due to many reasons at the time of Aurangzeb Alamgir the Mughal Empire reached its greatest extent fighting constantly for The Throne the successor were busy in only proving themselves better against one another. this and also various policies and complicated situations eventually led to the decline of Mughal Empire.

the policies were the start of a decline. Aurangzeb's policies in both the relations and administration matters caused a rage in non-muslims. he demolish temples and ordered breaking of idols. Aurangzeb reimposed Jizya tax which Akbar had abolished. he removed Hindus from government jobs. Hindu traders had to pay 5% toll tax while Muslim that to pay half fund. after sometime this was abolished for Muslims only. several Hindu Educational Institutes were destroyed and restricted. at a point the only escape was to convert to Islam which was regarded as a force conversion. social restrictions prevented Hindus from earning and practicing their religion freely this caused conflicts with the Jats, satamis, sikhs, rajput and marathas.

weak and unworthy successes with a deteriorated character also contributed to the decline. they lacked the motivation and commitment to The Empire. they became addicted to the pleasures of court and comfortable life. They disregarded their state duties and weren't able to refrain their Empire from collapsing. money was lavishly spend impacting the economy. the war of succession lead to bitterness, bloodshed, loss of money, Prestige, honour and dignity of the Empire.

local and foreign visions whilst weak successes On The Throne further weekend The Empire. marathas were the major opponents. invasion also happened from Afghanistan and persia. the Persian general invaded and looted the people of Delhi. Afghanistan general Ahmad Shah invaded India 10 times. these innovations made the Mughal Empire Virtually bankrupt.

rise of British was also due of the major contributing to the decline. the more the decline, the more the control British were starting to have. they expanded their territory through a series of battles and annexation. British were able to effectively take control over the administration gradually and place puppet rulers.Through different tactics they controlled the entire Empire.

fighting among the weak Successors was the most important reason as the desire for the throne made them blind of the condition of the people and they gained Enemies. When people were in rage and not happy with The Emperors the local and foreign Enemies took advantage of it and invaded.
