POLITICAL CAUSES

King louis was the king of France. There was monarchy rule. France was in debt. They were not able to maintain army, government offices, institutions and huge palace of Versailles.

ECONOMIC CAUSES

Due to severe winter there was bad harvest therefore the bread prices rose which was staple diet of the people. Rumor's spread that king has ordered troops to open fire. they lost  money by helping 13 American colonies to gain independence.

SOCIAL CAUSES

There was a society division in France. France society was divided into 3 estates. 1st estate- CLERGY

             2nd estate- NOBILITY

             3rd estate- COMMON PEOPLE

all taxes were paid by the 3rd  estate and first 2 estate enjoyed certain privilege's given by birth.
