before factorising let us multiply the terms

(xy+2y) +(x²+2x)

now factorise the terms

the common factor in first term is y, so

take y as common.

y(x+2)

then x is common factor in second term ,so take x as common.

x(x+2)

now the factorised equation is ,

y(x+2)+x(x+2)
