Given 3x^2 - 4x - 15

          3x^2 + 5x - 9x - 15

          x(3x + 5) - 3(3x + 5)

          (3x + 5)(x - 3)

Given:  3x²-4x-15

To Find: Factorisation

Solution:

The general factorization formula is expressed as N = Xa × Yb × Zc.

Here, X, Y, and Z represent the factors of a factorized number

The following equation can be solved by splitting the middle term.

          3x² - 4x - 15

-4x is the middle term and this has to be split.

Now, we take 3× (-15) and the solution will be split like 5x  and - 9x which on solving will give -4x.

Therefore,          3x² + 5x - 9x - 15

                            x(3x + 5) - 3(3x + 5)

                            (3x + 5)(x - 3)

If we equate the equation to zero then,

3x+5= 0 and x-3=0

x= -5/3 and x=3

Therefore, on factorising, the values of x are -5/3 and 3.
