p(x) =
2 {x}^{3} - 9 {x}^{2} + x + 12
p(-1) = 0
so x+1 is a factor of this polynomial

this polynomial divided by x+1
2 {x}^{2} - 11x + 12
factories it
2 {x}^{2} - 8x - 3x + 12
2x(x-4) -3(x-4)
(x-4) (2x-3)

hence factor (x+1) (x-4) (2x-3)
