2 {x}^{2}  + 24x + 40 = 2  {x}^{2}  + 20x + 4x + 40 \\ =  2x(x + 10) + 4(x + 10) \\  = (x + 10)(2x + 4) \\  = 2(x + 4)(x + 10)

Step-by-step explanation:

Equation =>2x^2+24x+40

=>2x^2+24+40

=>2x^2+20x+4x+40 (Middle term splitting).

=>2x(x+10)+4(x+10)

=>(2x+4)(x+10)

=> So from here=>x=-2 and x=-10.

HOPE IT HELPS.
