Given,
p(x) = 4x³+8x²+x-3

putting (x+1)= 0 or x= -1 in p(x)

We get,

p(-1) = 4(-1)³+ 8(-1)²+(-1)-3
= -4 + 8 -1 -3

= 0
So,

(x+1) is a factor of p(x),
Divide the p(x) by (x+1)
We get quoteint,

= 4x² + 4x -3

= 4x² -2x + 6x -3

= 2x(2x-1) + 3(2x -1)

= (2x+3)(2x-1)

Therefore,

4x³+8x²+x-3= (2x+3)(2x-1)(x+1)
