9y²-12y+4

= 9y² - (6+6)y +4

= 9y² -6y -6y +4

= 3y( 3y -2) - 2( 3y -2)

= (3y -2) (3y -2)

OR

using identity : a² -2ab +b² = (a-b)²

9y² -12y +4

= (3y)² - 2(3y)(2) + (-2)²

= ( 3y -2) ²

= (3y -2) (3y -2) are the required factors
