there are many methods to simplify this

1) factorization

x^{2} +3x+2=0\\\\x^{2} +2x+1x+2=0\\\\x(x+2)+1(x+2)=0\\\\(x+2)(x+1)=0\\\\

x = -2 \\or \\x=-1

2) quadratic formula

since it is in the form of quadratic equation we can use dis formula here,

a=1,\\ b=+3, \\c=2

formula:-

\frac{-b+-\sqrt{b^{2} 4ac} }{2(a)}

\frac{-3+-\sqrt{3^{2}-4(1)(2) } }{2}

\frac{-3+-\sqrt{9-8} }{2}

\frac{-3+-\sqrt{1} }{2}

\frac{-3+1}{2}\\\\\frac{-2}{2} \\\\= (-1)

\frac{-3-1}{2}\\\\\frac{-4}{2} \\\\= (-2)

∴ x = (-1)

  y = (-2)
