factorise the following:(2a-b)² +2 (2a-b) -8

• Let the value of (2a - b) be x.

So

• x² + 2 x  - 8

    = x² + 4 x  - 2 x  - 8

   = x ( x+4) - 2 ( x + 4)

  = ( x - 2) ( x +4 )

 So,

   = ( 2a - b - 2 ) ( 2a - b + 4).
