Question :- factorise the following expressions completely 45x²-81xy ?

Solution :-

→ 45x² - 81xy

The first step of factorising an expression is to take out any common factors( or HCF) which the terms have.

  • HCF of 45 and 81 is 9 .
  • HCF of x² and xy is x .

So, Taking HCF common ,

45x² - 81xy

9x(5x - 9y)

As , we can see now, no other terms are common .

Therefore, we can conclude that,

45x² - 81xy is Equal to the Product of 9x and (5x - 9y) .

{ Factorising an expression is to write it as a product of its factors. }
