x^2+1/x^2 -3

x² + 1/x² - 3

= ( x² + 1/x² - 2 ) - 1

= ( x - 1/x )² - 1²

= [ ( x - 1/x ) + 1 ] [ ( x - 1/x ) - 1 ]

= ( x - 1/x + 1 ) ( x - 1/x - 1 )
