≈we know that

$d = \sqrt{b { } ^{2} - 4ac }$

so, from inserting the values we get,

$\sqrt{( - 1) {}^{2} - 4 \times 1 \times 1 \ } \\ = 1 - 4 = - 3$

so, this equation have no pair of solutions.....
