Answer:

Factorising 1st expression:-

x²+7x+12

Product=12

Product=12Sum=7

x²+3x+4x+12

x(x+3)+4(x+3)

(x+4)(x+3)

Factorising 2nd expression:-

x²+x-12

Product= -12

Sum=1

x²+x-12

x²+4x-3x-12

x(x+4)-3(x+4)

(x-3)(x+4)

Now we find x+4 as common in both the expressions.

Hence,

x+4 is the HCF.
