Hey user here is your answer.....

----> Given equation- 40+3x-x^2

◆So we have to write this as------>

◆-x^2+3x+40

◆When we take (-) as common

◆x^2-3x-40

◆By middle term splitting

◆x^2-8x+5x-40

◆Take common

◆x(x-8)+5(x-8)

◆(x+5)(x-8)=0

◆x+5=0
&
◆x-8=0

◆x=-5 & x=8

Hope it helps you☺️

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation: 40+ 3x - x²

=> -x² + 3x + 40

=> -x² + (8 - 5)x + 40

=> -x² + 8x - 5x +40

=> -x(x - 8) - 5(x -8)

=> (-x -5) (x -8)

I hope this will help you
