Hola there,
=> x² - 1 - 2a - a²
=> x² - (a² + 2a + 1)
=> x² - (a + 1)²
=> (x - (a + 1))(x + (a + 1))
=> (x - a - 1)(x + a + 1). ...Ans

Hi ,
x² - 1 - 2a - a²
= x² - ( 1 + 2a + a² )
= x² - ( 1² + 2 × 1 × a + a² )
= x² - ( 1 + a )²
= ( x + 1 + a ) [ x - ( 1 + a ) ]
= ( x + a + 1 ) ( x - a - 1 )
