Hey friend, Harish here

Here is your answer,

We need to factorise the expression : x² - y² - 2x + 6y - 8

Now we can re write this expression as:

⇒ ( x² - 2x + 1 ) - (y² - 6x + 9)

⇒ (x - 1)² - (y - 3)²

Now using the identity a²-b² = (a+b)(a-b)

(x - 1)² - (y - 3)² ⇔  (x - 1 + y - 3) ( x - 1 - y + 3)

(x + y - 4) (x - y +2)
