Factorise x^2 -y^2 - 8y -16

x {}^{2}  - y {}^{2}  - 8y - 16 \\  = x {}^{2}  - (y {}^{2}   + 8y + 16) \\  = x {}^{2}  - ( \: (y) {}^{2}  + 2 \times y \times 4 + (4) {}^{2} ) \\  = x {}^{2}  - (y + 4) {}^{2}  \\  = (x + y + 4)(x - y - 4)
