==> (x-5)^2 - 5(x - 5) -24

x -5 = y taking

==> (y)^2 - 5y - 24

==> y^2 -8y+ 3y -24

==> y(y- 8)+ 3( y - 8)

==> ( y -8 ) (y + 3)

Now, substitute the value of y with x -5


==>. ( x - 5 - 8) (x - 5 + 3)

==> (x + 13 ) ( x - 2 )


This is the solution for the equation.
