hey, here is your answer.......

x^2 + 6x - 16 = 0.........

x^2 + 8x - 2x - 16 = 0..........

x [x + 8] -2[x + 8] = 0.........

(x+8)(x-2) = 0..........

Therefore, x = 2 (or) x = -8..........

hope this helps you......
thank you.....

Given,

The expression: x² + 6x - 16 = 0.

To find,

The factors of the given expression.

Solution,

We can easily solve this expression by following the given steps.

According to the question,

We have the following expression:

x² + 6x - 16 = 0

Now, we can factorise it by splitting the middle term into two terms such that their subtraction will give 6x and multiplication will give -16x².

These two terms are 8x and -2x.

x²+8x-2x-16 = 0

Taking x common from the first two terms and -2 common from the last two terms:

x(x+8)-2(x+8) = 0

Taking (x+8) as a common factor:

(x+8)(x-2) = 0

Hence, the factors of x² + 6x - 16 = 0 are (x+8)(x-2).
