 {x}^{2}  - 9x + 8 = 0

 {x}^{2}  -  x - 8x + 8 = 0

x(x - 1) - 8(x - 1) = 0

(x - 1)(x - 8) = 0

x = 1 \:  \: and \:  \:  \:  \: x = 8

therefore the factor of x in this equation is 8 and 1.

have a nice day my friend.
