4 is 2 power 2
So [2(2a+b)]^2-(a-b)^2
Now you can use the identity a2-b2=(a+b)(a-b)

Hi ,

*******************************
We know the algebraic identity

x² - y² = ( x + y ) ( x - y )

************************************

4 ( 2a + b )² - ( a - b )²

= [ 2( 2a + b ]² - ( a - b )²

= ( 4a + b )² - ( a - b )²

= [ 4a + b + a - b ] [ ( 4a + b ) - ( a - b ) ]

= ( 5a ) ( 4a + b - a + b )

= 5a ( 3a + 2b )

I hope this helps you.
