Correct Question :-

Factorise 25x² - 60xy + 36y²

Answer :-

(5x - 6y)(5x - 6y)

Solution :-

25x² - 60xy + 36y²

It can be written as

= (5x)² - 60xy + (6y)²

= (5x)² - 2(5x)(6y) + (6y)²

We know that

(a - b)² = a² + b² - 2ab

Here a = 5x, b = 6y

By substituting the values

= (5x - 6y)²

= (5x - 6y)(5x - 6y)

Identity used :-

• (a - b)² = a² + b² - 2ab

Extra information :-

Factorisation is a process of writing an expression as its products.

Factorisation can be done using grouping terms, and also using Identities.
