Answer:

Let Huma age = x

Farhad's age = x+4

Ali's age= x-2

Sum of ages = 47

So

x+x+4+x-4= 47

3x+2=47

3x=47-2

3x= 45

X= 15

Putting the value of x

Farhad age= x+4

= 15+4

= 19yrs

Ali age= x-2

=15-2

=13yrs

Huma age

X= 15 yrs

To find  : their respective ages.​

Solution:

Let say Ali is  a year younger than Huma

Huma is H year old

Ali = H - a

Then Fahad is H + 4  years old

sum of their ages is 47

=> H - a  + H  + H + 4  = 47

=> 3H = 43  + a

a = 2  ,  a  = 5  , a  = 8   and so on

Taking a =  2

=> H = 15

so their ages are  13 , 15 , 19

Taking a =  5

=> H = 16

so their ages are  11 , 16 , 20

Taking a =  8

=> H = 17

so their ages are  9 ,  17 , 21

Taking a =  11

=> H = 18

so their ages are  7 ,  18 , 22

Taking a =  14

=> H = 19

so their ages are  5  ,  19 , 23

Taking a =  17

=> H = 20

so their ages are  2  ,  20 , 24

Taking a =  20

=> H = 21

so their ages are 1  ,  21 , 25

Taking a =  23

=> H = 22

a can not be greater than H

Hence their ages can be :

Ali , Huma , Fahad
