Mensuration occurs due to breakage of endometrial line...When egg gets fertilises,no mensuration occurs ,due to Presence of more amount of progsterone...Progesterone maintains pregnancy...

If the ovum from the ovary is released and doesnt get fertilised then it travels to the uterus cavity and doesnt get embedded in the uterine wall.
The fertilization process doesnt occur in the fallopian tubes but the uterine wall is prepared to receive the zygote.
When there is no zygote formation the egg remains suspended and the uterine wall is shed off which causes the menstruation .
