Faith is a thing which comes slowly on anyone.
But if once it is committed then no one can change one's opinion or faith on anyone.
This is why mountains have been used here.
It's contextual meaning can be taken as blind faith...

"Faith can move mountains" is a phrase in which the strength of faith is exaggerated. It just means that if you have faith, it can (and should) be so strong that it can actually make a change, and be able to make your wish come true.
