To find:

How many juices in the jug now?​

Solution:

The initial quantity of juice in the jug = 1½ litre = $\frac{3}{2} \:litre$

Faiza drank ¼ of the juice in the jug

∴ The quantity of juice Faiza drank in the morning is,

= $\frac{3}{2} \times \frac{1}{4}$

= $\frac{3}{8}$

∴ The remaining quantity of juice in the jug is,

= $\frac{3}{2} - \frac{3}{8}$

= $\frac{12 - 3}{8}$

= $\frac{9}{8}$

Her sister added 3/8 litre more in the jug

∴ The new quantity of juice in the jug is,

= $\frac{9}{8} + \frac{3}{8}$

= $\frac{12}{8}$

= $\frac{3}{2}$
