This is not quite correct, because regardless of how big the black hole is and regardless of how close you are to the event horizon, the stuff at the event horizon always move away from you (in your reference frame) at the speed of light. So the transition at the event horizon is nontrivial.

falling in a black hole makes ones body stretched apart as it passes through the dark horizon.
the gravitational pull of the black hole is same as other stars but a lot stronger .
the observation depends on the closeness to the black hole and the size of black holes.
