A top layer of the soil which remain on the top of the road after all other materials are removed is known as cut slope.

When the trees are cut down its roots remain live and continue to grow . and slowly its turn into tree.

And if the roots are also cut or killed the slope will loose its support.this type of farming is known as terrace farming.
