Ans-2). In solids, the atoms or molecules are closely packed together. So they are very dense and they are held together by strong intermolecular forces of attraction. When we put pressure on solids, to compress them, there no space between the atoms/molecules and as a result we cannot compress them.
Ans-3). (a) Camphor disappears after sometime as its surface gains kinetic energy and gets directly converted into gas. The process of geting converted directly into gas without getting converted into liquid is called sublimation. So, we can say that canphor due to sublimation gets converted into gas and gets dissaper after sometime.
(b). It's not that you sweat more, but it's because in high humidity the air is already full of water, so therefore the sweat does not evaporate off your skin as quickly. The absence of the "cooling" effect of evaporating sweat makes our bodies feel hotter in humid climates, thus we continue to sweat.
Ans-4). Oxygen is called a gas because -
i) If we put it in a container it's particles move randomly.
ii) If we decrease it's temprature and increase compresiblity it turns to a liquid state
Ans-5). Dry Ice is the common name for solid carbon dioxide (CO2). It gets this name because it does not melt into a liquid when heated; instead, it changes directly into agas (This process is known assublimation).
hope this will help......☺️☺️
