Answer:

Let the present age of father be x years

And, the present age of two children be y years

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀According to the Given Condition

Father age is 3 time the sum of the age of two children .

:\implies x = 3y ----------(i)

Again ,

After 5 years his age will be twice the sum of ages of two children .

:\implies x+5 = 2(y+10)

:\implies x+5 = 2y + 20

:\implies x -2y = 15 --------(ii)

Now, substitute the value of x = 3y in equation (ii) we get

:\implies 3y -2y = 15

:\implies y = 15

Putting the value of y = 15 in equation (i) we get

:\implies x = 3×15

:\implies x = 45

  • Hence, the present age of father is 45 years .

Given :-

Father  age is 3 time the sum of the ages two children after 5 years his age will be twice the sum of ages of two children

To Find :-

Age of father

Solution :-

Let age of father be x

Age of two children be y

x = 3 × y

x = 3y

After 5 years

Age of father = x + 5

Age of two sons = y + 5 + 5 = y + 10

Now

x + 5 = 2(y + 10)

x + 5 = 2y + 20

x - 2y = 20 - 5

x - 2y = 15

3y - 2y = 15

y = 15

x - 2(15) = 15

x - 30 = 15

x = 30 + 15

x = 45
