Step-by-step explanation:

Let the age of son be x

So, father's age be 6x

second condition

=4(x+4)=6x+4

x=6 year

Answer:

Let the present age of father be x years and the present age of daughter be y years.

Given that the father’s age is 6 x his daughter’s age i.e., x=6y         (1)

Since, the age of the father will be 4 x  his daughter's age after four years, we have

x+4=4(y+4)         (2)

Sub equation (1) in (2) we get,

6y+4=4(y+4)

6y+4=4y+16

6y−4y=16−4

2y=12

div both sides by 2,

y=6

From equation (1) we have

x=6y

Sub the y value in the above equation,

x=6×6 ; x=36

Therefore, the present age of father is 36 years and the present age of his daughter is 6 years.
