my ans is: swami was already late for school when he should present in school prayer then he was present in a bench in his mother room.then his father saw that and he became very angry.swami knows that how strict his father could be so for safe to his father he said samuel always scold the students this is only a excuse.then he get relief from his father.

swami planned to disobey his sir samuel because he wanted to gather some proof for the allegations as he didnot knew whether the allegations are wrong or right written by his father in the letter.
