let x be fathers age and y be sons age

x=6y------(1)

4 yrs hence

(x+4) = 4(y +4)

x-4y=12 --------(2)

(1) in (2)

6y - 4y = 12

y =6

thus

x =36

hope it helps you

\Large{\textbf{\underline{\underline{According\:to\:the\:Question}}}}

Assumption

\textbf{\underline{Present\;age\;of\;Father}}

= p years

\textbf{\underline{Present\;age\;of\;Son}}

= n years

\textbf{\underline{Situation}}

p = 6n …(1)

\textbf{\underline{After\;4\;years}}

(p + 4) = 4(n + 4)

p - 4n = 12 …(2)

{\boxed{\sf\:{Substitute\;value\;of\;p\;from\;(1)\;in\; (2)}}}

p - 4n = 12

6n - 4n = 12

2n = 12

\tt{\rightarrow n=\dfrac{12}{2}}

n = 6

\textbf{\underline{Substitute\;the\;value\;in\;(1)}}

p = 6n

p = 6 × 6

p = 36

\Large{\boxed{\sf\:{Present\;age\;of\;Father=36\;and\;Son=6}}}
