During the winter months the current year ends and a new year starts. The days are shorter and often very cold. Sometimes the precipitation will fall as sleet and snow, and quite often we wake up in the morning to frost and ice on the floor. Winter is usually cold and wet, however it does differ in other parts of the world and hear are facts about it:
1)every winter, at least one septillion (that’s 1 followed by 24 zeros) snow crystals fall from the sky.
2)Winter in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres is caused by Earth’s axis in that hemisphere being tilted away from the sun.
3)The world record for the largest snowfall in one day was set in the US when Georgetown received 63 inches of snow….. That’s over five feet!!
4)Chionophobia is a fear of snow.
5)Trees and plants stop growing in this season accept for few.
6)Winter is the season with the shortest days and the lowest temperatures.
7)in winter season,the northern hemisphere gives off more energy than it takes in that is why it is cooler.
8) This is the season which makes most of the people inactive.
