Egg floats in salty water and sinks In sinks in normal water because it depends on the density. In salt water density is high as it floats and in normal water the density is less as it sinks.

mejoshmachine: And what exactly is density?
PRtucmec123: Density is defined as the mass per unit volume of a substance.
