  • It develop in areas with high temperature and rainfall .
  • Laterite soil are suitable for the cultivation with adequate doses of manures and fertiliser.
  • These soils are mainly found in karnataka , Tamil nadu, madhya pradesh , kerela and in the hilly areas of Odisha
  • Humus content of the soil is too low because most of the micro organisms particularly the decomposers like bacteria get destroy due to high temperature
  • The soils are acidic in nature coarser and crumbly in texture
