> FEBRUARY REVOLUTION

• The layout of the city seemed to emphasize the divisions among its people.The worker's quarters and factories were located at the right bank of River neva.And on the left, was the fashionable areas.

• On 22 February, a lockout took place at the factory on the right bank. the next day, workers in fifty factories called strike in sympathy

• Demonstrating workers crossed from factory quarters to the centre of the capital - Nevskii prospect ( don't forgot this name , what a name ;p)

• As the fashionavle quarters and official buildings were surrounded by workers, the government imposed a curfew.

• Demonstrators dispersed by the evening, but they come back on 24th and 25th. ( fear ho gaya ;p)

• On sunday, 25 february, the givernment suspended Duma.

• Demonstrators returned In force to the streets of left bank on the 26th.

• On the 27 th, the Police headquarters were ransacked. They raised slogans on better wages, bread etc.

• When the givernment commanded cavalry to open fire on demonstrators, they refused and joined the striking workers. (vo bhi chali gayi ;p )

• By that evening, striking workers and soldiers had gathered to form a Soviet or council.

• This event was known as FEBRUARU REVOLUTION

> OCTOBER REVOLUTION

• As the conflict between the provisional government and the Bolsheviks grew, Lenin feared the government would set up a dictatorship.

• In September, they began discussions for uprising against the government. Bolshevik supporters in yhe army, Soviets and factories were brought together.

• On 16 October, Lenin persuaded the petrograd soviet and Bolsheviks to a free a socialist seizure of power.

• A military revolutionary comittee was appointed by the Soviet.


• The uprising began on 24 October

• Sensing trouble, p.m Kerenskii had left the city to summon troops.At dawn, military men loyal to the government seized the buildings of 2 Bolsheviks newspaper.

• In a swift response, the comitee also seize the government offices.

•By night, the city was under comitee's control.

• The majority approved Bolshevik action.

• There was heavy fighting, especially in Moscow petrograd area

• These events were probably known as October revolution.
